Delta_Ark’s work from 2005-2010 (with a few additional texts added afterwards) was deeply concerned with desire: desire in VR for avatars, other intelligences, desire in the nature world, desire reflected in the landscape, the process of desire and lack expanding one’s subjectivity, spiritual stand-ins for desire and desire as a process of transformation. These themes are rendered in open verse, free verse, tanka, haiku, narrative, video poems and a novella.
This project transforms the unseen thematic and emotional structure of a poem into a unique, interactive 3D "data sculpture." Each visualization is a distinct artistic fingerprint of its source text, generated through a two-part, systematic process. First, the poem is broken down into its core stanzas, and each is assigned a numerical "intensity" score based on the evocative power of its language. This data then drives a generative system where the poem's sequence forms a central, glowing red spine. Radiating from this spine are ribs whose length directly corresponds to the intensity of each stanza, creating a visual representation of the poem's thematic landscape. The final piece, rendered in a self-contained block with a particle atmosphere and interactive controls, allows viewers to explore the poem's structure in a new dimension. You can also read them the traditional way.
